Tempo

Part of the team file — Relaxed, normal or urgent: the word that scales the watch's idle and nudge waits, and when it takes effect.

How fast the watch's waits run. It is an owner section. Omitted, it reads as normal.

team.yaml
tempo: urgent
  • relaxed, normal or urgent.
  • relaxed doubles idle_repeat, team_idle, nudge_wait and unsent_after, and doubles the idle window the liveness chain resolved (idle_first). urgent halves them, to the nearest second, and never below one second. normal leaves them as written.
  • The idle window is scaled after the chain checks its word: the tempo is the owner's dial on the timing, so relaxed lengthens the resolved window without reading as a team loosening a liveness threshold, and urgent shortens it. idle_owner and blind_after are never scaled.
  • An omitted idle_repeat stays off. interval is the pass rate and is not scaled, and neither are the quota marks, the check switches or the liveness windows idle_owner and blind_after.
  • relaxed and urgent take effect on the next pass once a verified record of the file is in force; a file with no such record runs the default timings. A file that omits the key, and one that sets normal, leave every wait as written.
